From Pen to the Future: Climate Change Composition Contest Award Ceremony Held!

The award ceremony of the “From Pen to the Future: Climate Change Composition Contest”, organized by Fırat University Faculty of Education Social Studies Active Citizens Student Society, was held.

The event, carried out under the coordination of Research Assistant İrem Elçi Öksüzoğlu, took place on Monday, April 27, at 11:30 a.m. in the Şehit Canbert Tatar Conference Hall. The event was organized with the aim of drawing pre-service teachers’ attention to the climate crisis and encouraging them to take responsibility on the way to the COP 31 process.

During the program, students who wrote compositions to raise awareness about climate change and ranked in the contest were awarded. A musical performance was also held as part of the event, and the students’ sensitivity toward environmental awareness, climate change, and a sustainable future, expressed through written composition, was appreciated.

As the Department of Social Studies Education, we would like to thank Research Assistant İrem Elçi Öksüzoğlu, who contributed to the organization of the event, the Social Studies Active Citizens Student Society, and all our students who participated in the contest; and we congratulate the students who ranked in the contest.
